How about that Michelle Obama
58An Inspiring Evening
I missed Michelle Obama's speech last night due to a commitment that didn't end until around 11pm. But I immediately logged onto to CNN.com when I got in to catch up. I also caught the replay of her speech in the middle of the night.
I thought her speech was very moving and inspiring. The Obamas are not only true Americans, but they are proof that the American dream is real.
I was shocked at all of the negative politics I saw last night around the first night of the convention. I think the convention opened up with a bang...and started off on a positive note.
The GOP was bashing the event on CNN last night, talking about how they wasted a day. I thought that was rediculous to say...they seem to think that because the democratic party didn't start out on a negative note they wasted the day. Members of the grand old party also tried to insinuate that Michelle's speech made no difference last night, which is insane. It absolutely had a purpose, and that purpose was absolutely fulfilled. I think the American people who are struggling with the current economic conditions can see that the Obamas can truly relate to us, as they too have struggle to arrive at the place where they are today. Not so sure that the same relatedness exists to Senator McCain and his wife.
Also, I can't help but to bring up all of the talk about Hillary supporters allegedly crossing over to become McCain supporters. How rediculous is that? So let me make sure I understand this. Those of you who are going that route are actually going to allow the madness that has gone on for the past 8 years to continue because of your bitterness over the fact that Hillary is not the nominee? You are then sentencing our children to the demise and the scarcity that is inevitable if we grant the republicans even one more term. If these people are seriously considering voting for McCain, then they were obviously supporting Senator Clinton for all the wrong reasons.
I sincerely hope that America wakes up and realizes that we must take action now! Its not even that time is running out, but that we are out of time..and we have been for the past several years.
So to all of you haters who have your surface reasons for not being willing to recognize that Senator Obama is our saving grace, I pray that you will realize that our future is in your hands. We need your vote, and we need for you to let all of those surface reasons that I will not speak on fall by the wayside, and join us in turning this country around while we still can.
I have to acknowledge one of my heros Senator Ted Kennedy before I sign off here. What an awesome speech, and what a blessing it was to have him in our presence last night. Go Senator Kennedy!! Go Barack & Michelle! We love you! YES WE CAN!!
